Raise a glass to the British pub!
06 October 2016
Pete Brown, real ale expert and lover of the Great British pub, arrived at Off the Shelf to tell a sell-out audience what he believes are the attributes for a legendary watering hole.
He talked about everything from 'weird' pubs to 'historical' pubs and revealed that Sheffield is home to two of his very favourites - The Rutland Arms on Brown Street and The Sheffield Tap, which he thinks is the best railway pub in the country.
The evening was lubricated with a healthy supply of local ales, provided by Hop Hideout.
