Empires of Gold: The Rise and Legacy of Africa’s Empires – Simon Jones

Simon, born and raised in Sheffield, has lived here for over 40 years. His father arrived from the Caribbean in 1955 as part of the Windrush Generation. Simon is passionate about African history, ancestry, and family heritage. As an ancestral storyteller and community educator, he shares powerful narratives, celebrating the rich cultural legacy of the African diaspora.

Simon is one of the curators of Caribbean Footsteps: Sheffield Stories Exhibition at Weston Park Museum.
