Calling young rappers, hip-hop heads and urban music lovers! Join us for a night of rap, lyricism, music production and live performance. All welcome but the mic belongs to young artists aged 14 – 30. Open mic, rap battles, prizes and established guest artists. Expect inclusiveness, good vibes and positive competition. Organised by SLAMBARZ cic – a music/artist development and live performance community interest company for young urban lyricists aged between 14-25 based in Sheffield.

In 2012, Benjamin Zephaniah curated The Youth Word Up! for Off the Shelf. The Youth Word Up! was organised for the festival for by HIVE South Yorkshire for 10 years leading to Slambarz showcases in 2022 and 2023.
