Built in the early 17th century, Bolsover Castle became the pleasure palace of horse-mad playboy Cavalier and ambitious courtier William Cavendish. Lucy brings to life a remarkable 17th century household, painting a picture of conspiracy, sexual intrigue and gossip. The building holds a special place in her heart as her first proper job was assistant inspector of ancient monuments for English Heritage at Bolsover Castle.
