Sophie Raworth has been on our TVs for more than 30 years. She is known for presenting the BBC news, starting at Look North. She has covered many significant events in modern history and interviewed some of the most important global figures of our times. But there is another side to Sophie’s life.
Inspired by a friend, Sophie took up running in her 40s, although her first marathon was almost a disaster when she collapsed 2 miles from the finish line. Since then, she has completed all seven World Marathon Majors and run ten ultra-marathons, including the 150-mile Marathon des Sables across the Sahara Desert. Hear Sophie’s inspiring story, how running helped her with challenges from losing loved ones to interviewing the PM and how to discover the joy of running at any age.
“To say this is a book about running does not do it justice; this is about life and all its challenges… “ – JoJo Moyes
