An evening with Simon Armitage and LYR

Poet Laureate Simon Armitage opens this event by reading from his much-loved work and latest books Dwell and New Cemetery before the band LYR take to the stage. The trio combine the creative powers of Simon Armitage, singer-songwriter Richard Walters and multi-instrumentalist/producer Patrick J Pearson. LYR are firmly established on the contemporary music scene, with critically acclaimed albums, sell out UK tours and major festival appearances. Their pulse-altering, extraordinary sound brings together the worlds of spoken word, poetry and music crafting an ethereal mix of brooding classical pop.
