Ruth McDonald has guest curated a project dedicated to Black writers whose powerful words have profoundly shaped our world. Their stories are vital, ensuring that memories endure and legacies are celebrated, inspiring future generations with the courageous and brilliant trailblazers who have paved the way for us all.

There will be daily opportunities for local voices to read work by poets, song writers, authors and rappers. Who is your favourite writer? We want to hear your choice. From Maya Angelou to Stormzy, from Toni Morrison to Benjamin Zephaniah, share a 5 minute reading to inspire audiences in the Winter Garden. Let’s make some noise for the words that matter!
