Jane Austen’s Fashion Bible features extracts from Jane Austen’s novels and juvenilia, and focuses on the gorgeous styles and social settings of the era. Each excerpt is accompanied by a beautiful corresponding colour fashion plate and entertaining description from Regency magazine La Belle Assemblée. Published from 1806 until 1832, La Belle Assemblée was most famous for its beautiful fashion plates that featured outfits for all occasions, from the most lavish ball gowns to dresses to wear on a country walk.
