Sir Bradley Wiggins – The Chain

Mon 28 September, 2026 at 7:30 pm

As a professional road and track racing cyclist, Sir Bradley Wiggins was the first Briton to win the Tour de France. He boasts five Olympic golds, eight world titles and eight Olympic medals. In 2012, fresh from Tour de France victory and Olympic gold, Wiggins had the world at his feet.  Sporting hero. People’s champion. Everyone knew who ‘Wiggo’ was. Everyone, that is, but him.

Behind the accolades lies a story tainted by contradiction, controversy and confusion. His upbringing had been chaotic and mired in abandonment, violence and abuse. The bike had been his escape and he pushed himself to extraordinary heights. But after retirement, he spiralled into deep personal despair, battling a drug addiction that nearly cost him his life.

In an evening of raw honesty, Wiggins shares his journey of survival and self-discovery.  He discusses his fantastic career, his memoir The Chain and how he came back from the brink and finally broke the chain.
